Yesterday was Father’s Day in many countries. If you could dedicate a holiday to a more distant relative, who would it be — and why?
Asking a genealogist to chose one relative or ancestor is like asking which child survives on the Titanic.
We all have a favorite grandparent, uncle or aunt.
We have ancestors who did great things, stupid things, terrible things or just worked hard and raised families.
I have ancestors who were passengers on the Mayflower and those fought for independence in the Revolutionary War and every war since. There are those who ventured out explored new areas usually with their families traveling along. Those who followed their faith and were brutally murdered. Those who were falsely accused for witchcraft and died in jail. Ancestors and parents who were average everyday just could not get it right types.
So, if I had to narrow it down it would come down to the caring me or the sarcastic me. Since they are arguing over the final choice here are my choices:
